A chain of custody certificate must accompany certified source wood from its point of origin in the forest to the end user. The chain of custody involves all stages of handling, from initial processing to manufacturing and distribution. In-house company coding procedures are applied to the wood upon arrival and through each stage of production until packaging.
The consumer purchasing wood flooring with the FSC logo is assured that the forest of origin was managed in an environmentally friendly manner. By the same token, the consumer contributes to increased demand for this kind of product.

Given our concern for forest harvesting practices, PG Group seeks to actively help most of our suppliers become FSC accredited. Suppliers must endorse sound forest management, consider environmental issues and social impacts and remain economically viable. Much of our supply of exotic species from Brazil and birch, maple, red oak and white oak originate from FSC suppliers with accredited chains of custody. This certification allows follow-up of certified source wood from its point of origin in the forest to the end user.
